Fate of Heroes is an action-packed fantasy card game, perfect for fast battles and fun game nights. It is easy to learn and quick to start playing with.

You have the choice to use complex rule cards and the more you play, the more you will understand the beauties of the underlying rules of Xemytica.

Fate of Heroes Starter Pack comes with a total of 54 cards (3 rule cards):

  • 17 Fighter Cards
  • 17 Fate Cards
  • 17 Gear Cards.

The total value of the Starter Pack is 81 points – enough for two persons to start playing straight out of the box! Each person needs a 30 point Deck to play.

In Xemytica: Fate of Heroes the players battles each other with Fighters. The game is created to be fast and fun - so each card is laid simultanously.

A quick description of the rules:

Pre game:
At the top right corner of each card are one, two or three dots. This is the value of the card. You, and your Opponent, picks out enough cards to create a deck with a total value of 30.

This means that you will end up with a small deck of between 10 to 30 cards. You need to have at least one Fighter (blue) card in your deck (but we recommend more!). You may have as many, or as few, of the other cards as you wish, as long as the total value of the deck is 30 points.

Game:
The game is played in a number of Fights or Battles. Think of this as small arena fights, where you bring in your Hero and try to bash the other guy as much as you can, by adding magic swords, chosing the right location for the fight and other add ons.

The winner of the overall game is the one who still have fighters left in the deck, when the opponent(s) have none.

Now, play the battles:

  1. Draw 8 cards from your deck. This is your hand. You may draw cards at any time, but you may not have more than 8 cards on your hand. You may discard (any time) to draw other cards. If you discard, that card may not be brought up into play again (if card rules doesn’t say otherwise).

  2. Play a Fighter card (blue card) – do this simultanously with your opponent(s). None of the players should be able to change their mind – so it is important that everyone does this at the same time.

  3. Now play a Fate card (red card). Carefully look at the modifications. The goal of the game is to boost one of your Fighter’s Attack Values (Speed, Strength or Skill – the three values on the bottom of the Fighter Card). This card is also played simultanously with the other player(s).

The Fate card effects all Fighters on the table! Be careful – if you play a Helper, this guy will actually also help your enemies!

  4. Last, play a Gear card (purple card) (also simultanously). These cards effect your Fighter only (if card rules doesn’t say otherwise). Now add up all the modifications.

The Fighter with the highest of any of the Attack Values wins.

The Player with that Fighter can now put all his played cards back into the bottom of his deck (not the discarded cards).

The loser(s) discards all played cards.

Now, start over again – and do all fights until only one player has Fighter cards left.

Several Xemytica: Fate of Heroes Starter Packs can be added to get more cards. Only cards marked with Unique can not be duplicates in the deck.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
