Contemporary Bible trading cards presenting scripture and images that kids will love to collect . . . Great for churches and homeschooling families!

These decks consists of 107 individual cards featuring Characters, Events, and Items from the Bible. Each card is illustrated and has an accompanying quote from the International Children's Bible. Kids enjoy collecting and trading with each other to complete subsets like Creation, Apostles, Weapons, OT Heroes, and Bad Guys.

Popular uses include Sunday School prizes, VBS giveaways, homeschool incentives, and weekly handouts to keep kids excited about coming back (and helping their parents get there on time).

FAQ

Is this a game?

No. These cards are done in the style of collectable card games, but there are no interactive elements to them. The closest we came to playing a game with them was a "build your own heretical Bible story" by laying out 5 random cards... that was a grown up thing, though :D.

Are these cards randomized for collecting?
No. Each deck sold is a complete set of 107 cards (plus an info card). We wanted to stay away from the expense of small packs, and the vague gambling aspect in the statistical rarity of cards that contributes to and excitement of opening a random package. As children collect them, though, they should be encouraged to consider trading among themselves to complete the sub-sets within the overall set. They will definitely still be excited to get a card that's part of "their" set.

What makes these different than other Bible cards on the market?
Good question. These cards really straddle a line between two types of cards available, taking good elements of both the story/stat style cards and actual game cards, and leaving behind some that make what's out there less effective for church ministry. Here are the main differences I see:
-Unlike actual game cards, kids don't have to have complete collections or specific cards to be useful ... one, fifty, or one hundred, the collection isn't defined by the needs of a game.
-Unlike story cards, which I have found to be very individual, there is interaction within the set. Kids can collect sets of related events like miracles, or related characters like Old Testament Heroes, and trade with each other to work on "their" sets. This also increases excitement with having specific cards they're hoping for.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
