Up Front Counter Sheets (2nd Edition)

Option choisie:

Up Front is a card-based wargame designed by Courtney F. Allen and orignally published by Avalon Hill in 1983.

This award winning game, referred to as the Squad Leader card game, provides an innovative game design for simulating squad level skirmishes. Its use of terrain cards in lieu of a board; its effective simulation of the Fog of War and of troop responsiveness (or lack thereof) to orders amid combat are all often cited innovative features. It is a non-CCG design.

Up Front is quite well known in wargame circles, but for those looking for more information and reviews of this game, we recommed these sites:

What Am I Getting?

Two sheets of counters. Around 300 counters. We are not able to offer true punch-out chits, so these come on doulbe-sided cardstock and will need to be cut apart. The counters are also offered as a digital download version for DIY print-and-play.

With permission from rights-holder Hasbro (owner of Wizards of the Coast and Avalon Hill), Wargame Vault has digitally re-mastered the second edition of Up Front and is offering it again through our card printing program. We've done our best to capture high-quality images of each card and the components reproduce nicely with minimal blurriness on text or images.

Each component of the game is listed here on Wargame Vault as a separate title to make it convenient for players who may wish to replace lost or worn-out components of a copy of Up Front they already own. For those who wish to get the entire game, we have bundled all of the components together into one bundle title for convenient purchase (and a bit of savings over buying each component separately).

We are unable to provide a reproduction of the original game box, but all of the components store nicely in our stacking, plastic deckboxes. If you are buying complete game, then we recommend 3 large deckboxes and 1 standard deckbox to hold all of the cards and have room to spare for the cut-up counters.

We (Wizards) recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Dungeons & Dragons teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to make our D&D products as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end.

I might be mistaken, but wasn't there mention of offering the counters as cards instead of chits?
