Did this product get dropped by Evil Hat? The linked "explainer" JPEG in this product's description is broken, and I can find no reference to this product on the Evil Hat website any more?

The higher priorities of running the company have continued to edge this out.

That said have you already looked at "It's Not My Fault I'm Fantastic"?

So is the aspect for Alchemist "Alchemist" or is it the "No boom today. Boom tomorrow"?

It can be either. I intended it as "Alchemist" rather than a paraphrased quote from Babylon 5, but either works, really, right? :)

I just got the physical cards in the mail, and I'm looking forward to putting them to use.

One thing I noted while using the web version (my players didn't really notice, but I like to be ready for every rules nut) is that the character class "aspects" don't seem to lend themselves that easily to invokes or compels. This could just be a lack of understanding on my part, but does anyone have any suggestions to encourage that more dynamic roleplaying component?

Since it's a one-shot, you've got to build consensus quickly as to what aspects mean. Encourage players to customize them beyond the class name (tho I don't personally find that necessary) or at least to converse with you about how they see them working into play.

Just discovered these cards. Love the idea, and will be ordering them soon. The only comment I've got is that I totally didn't know that they were for Fate when they kept popping up in my "suggested purchase" stream. The design of the cards as shown in the preview doesn't really mesh with the other Fate materials. Do you think it would make sense to have a Fate logo on them? Or maybe adjust the font to look more like that used on the titles of other Fate materials?

Might just be a product image problem that could be fixed — the actual description of the product says Fate Accelerated right up top, at least. :)

So, I finally tested this with a few friends and I liked how with a few things you get an interesting starting point for an adventure in just a few minutes. When I got home i thought about buying the It's not my Fault I'm Fantastic because I wanted to add more options for my next try, but I couldn't find any reference here in Drivethrurpg, only to this set and the French Version. (ey what about an spanish version?)...

I later thouht abuot cheking on drivetrhucards, and there I found the product. It's that kind of thing normal? One set avaliable on both sites, but another only on one?

Also, I read the post in Walking mind about the game, before it launched, and there was a comment about every response to the It's My Fault question turning into a new aspect. It's that no longer recommended on the final game?

Yeah, drivethrucards products are reliably found on drivethrucards; if they're also listed here it's b/c the publisher made a deliberate effort to make sure there was a multi-site listing. I must have remembered to do that for the original, but not for the others.

Fixed! No idea why it happened (I didn't do it, far as I know) but the "published" toggle had gotten flipped to a "no". Flipped it back.

Is there any way to get the templates for the cards? I love this, but I want to add to the number of choices, like a cleric, priest, and others...
Plus this would be great for other game settings!

There isn't. I do the work in InDesign and at least one of the fonts is a couple-hundred-bucks pro font (Gotham), and the other one might be a pro font as well (Blambot's Excalibur Sword Thrust). But once you've got those, re-creating this card format shouldn't be too hard.

Rob Donoghue and I are working on doing a second set ("It's Not My Fault We're In Space"), in a leisurely sort of way.

This would be awesome for convention games. Deal em, have the characters built in no time, and then adventure.

The Black Friday sale e-mail that I received yesterday said that this was "$3.99 (or download the PDF for FREE!)," none of which appears to be accurate.

We sent no such email, so I don't know what the origin of that claim was. But perhaps it's talking about this accessory item for INMF, linked above, and matching the $3.99 or free PDF pricing model you cite? http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/165807/Its-Not-My-Fault-Reference--Character-Record-Cards?affiliate_rem=24139

(Honestly we couldn't offer this product at $3.99 even if we wanted to — I believe that's lower than our cost to print.)

I would like to know who sent out that mailing tho. If you still have it, please forward it to feedback@evilhat.com and I'll see if there's somebody I need to talk to about the accuracy of claims made on our behalf. :)

For a sci-fi setting, try the OmegaZone Setting Deck (from Brooklyn Indie Games) — very similar concept, in a tongue-in-cheek post-apocalyptic Los Angeles filled with weird mutants.

Yes! Our long-term plans are to do other sets, and our even longer-term plan is for folks to mash those up to do cross-genre things. :)

Fred Hicks, if you keep making these, I will keep buying them and trying to talk everyone else into doing the same. I just ordered the PDF & Print combo, then read through the doc. EXCELLENT WORK! Randomness will give players a really fun time, but many of the stunts and approach combos are quite useful and clever for a more deliberate "serious" game. I love you, Evil Hat.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
