Creation Card Game

Many cultures use creation stories to explain where humans and gods came from and why the world is the way it is.  These examples of ancient stories highlight common themes in creation stories.  This game can help teach about these stories, reinforce class lessons, and inspire creativity to think about how we understand the world. These stories exist in many versions and these cards are just a snapshot of the stories.  I hope that this game will introduce players to the stories and encourage them to investigate these and other stories on their own.

For solo or group play (3-6 players) - 15-30 minutes.

Multiple modes of play are possible - solitaire, "memory," trading to collect sets, using randomly selected cards to create your own story.

This can be a fun way to learn about the stories for yourself or to help students in history, religion, and literature courses learn about the stories and identify common themes and parallels between the stories.

This game was created in collaboration with "The Big Myth," a website with animated versions of many creation stories (see Rulebook for more information).

Note- the digital download version (pay what you want) is an older version of the game.  There have been a few changes to cards, but the concept is basically the same - you can download and print (two-sided) and cut the cards for personal use or use in class).
