Greetings noble adventurer and welcome to Dave's Caves, the dungeon-crawling rpg-style solo adventure! I am your guide, Dave, and here is a small sampling of what to expect while exploring my caves...

●Choice of ADVENTURER to play as

●MAGIC ITEMS to help with your quest

●Various LANDSCAPE locations to help (or hinder) your progress

●MONSTERS galore

But I suppose that could be any dungeon-crawling game, couldn't it? Well, here's a little background on "your story"...

You are an adventurer living in your hometown village, looking to make a mark & find your place in life. You've heard rumors of the local caves being overrun with both animals & intelligent creatures. What better way to make your fame & fortune?

It could be dangerous, though. Others from your village have headed off before you, saying they were going to attempt to enter the caves and return home with treasures beyond imagination...but those who returned did so with a few paltry gold pieces for their troubles, so perhaps they only got those for working a few hours in a neighboring village? But there were some who never returned, so who knows if the rumors about the caves are true at all? And then there's the biggest rumor of all...could a dragon truly be living in those caves, so close to your village & so many others? You'd be happy enough to infiltrate the caves and escape with your life & a hefty sack of gold coins, but if you could slay a dragon, you'd be set for life!

Dave's Cave's is designed to be fun for both children & adults!  Easy to learn, easy to play, plenty of replay value, and the rules can easily be modified to adjust the difficulty!  My 9yo children playtested it with me & they love it, but there's plenty here for adults to enjoy as well!!

Hello, i have another question im hoping you will answer. If your fighting a monster with a special attack such as a bearhug, does it do its special damage in addition to its regular attack or in place of it? thanx.

Once a special attack (such as that bear hug) is engaged, it's considered an auto-hit in place of the monster rolling for attack/damage.

Thanks again for playing!

Thanx for answering my other questions i have just two more so i can play the game as intended. When crsossing the natural bridge do you use the stealth score in brackets or the other. and 2, is an encounter any drawn card or just combatants. For example, the wizard heals after each encounter (card or combat).Thanx, and once again its a fun game.

Stealth score in brackets, since you're considered to be fully alert without the distraction of fighting for your life in combat.

Each card is considered an encounter of its own. Potions, scrolls, landscapes, I think of it as taking some time to look around as you come across them, which would be equivalent to the time it takes to fight a monster and collect yourself after.

Hello, after playing it a few times i have a couple of questions. First, if you begin the game with potions can you roll to identify, and then roll to see if they have turned to poison before beginning the game and drawing your first card. 2, does it act as your action (like attacking) when you drink a potion in combat. and 3, can you cast scroll spells after an encounter or only in combat. thanx.

The beauty of Dave's Caves is that the difficulty is customizable. When I play it with my kids, any rule that could go in their favor is in play to make it easier and more satisfying for them than getting killed on a regular basis.

But for an adult who's playing the game "as intended," the potions you start with were bought in town and are considered unspoiled, so no roll is needed on them. It's only the potions that you find sitting around in the caves for an undetermined amount of time which may have turned to poison.

Yes, quaffing a potion is your action during combat. Attack, drink a potion, read a scroll, and attempting to flee are all considered a single action during combat.

Scrolls and potions can be used during combat (as your action) or between encounters.

Hmm, that is a problem. I'll have to work on this (especially since this is the main deck, and the adventurers deck has disappeared completely).

Well, at least I've got something to do while we're all in self-quarantine. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
