Selected Option:

One set of 30 double-sided Dungeon Map Tiles. Perfect for your subterranean explorations! Featuring passages, chambers, stairs and tiles for building large chambers.

About

Supplied in sets of 30 tiles, Jon Hodgson's double-sided, card-stock map tile sets will fit in a coat pocket and won’t break the bank.

The art is all hand-made using digital painting programs rather than 3d renders, so everything has a nice handmade feel that blends right in with painted miniatures.

They’re six inches square -  It’s a great balance of flexibility, allowing you to build very different encounter maps from a few tiles, with extreme portability. 210 tiles will fit in your bag with ease and allow endless set-ups on the fly.

  • 30 tiles per set
  • Full-colour
  • Double-sided
  • Printed on 270gsm card-stock, like playing cards
  • Highly connectable within each set
  • 6 inches square
  • A one-inch grid is built into the artwork of the Dungeon Tiles
  • Printed in the US
  • Free digital files of the map set included

About Digital Files
The free digital files supplied with these tiles come in two types: JPG files, without grid, intended for use on Virtual Table Tops, which generally add their own grid. And "fuzzy edged" PNG files which let you digitally construct larger maps with less obvious joins.
These are both intended for use on-screen, and not for home nor professional printing. They are supplied at an on-screen resolution of 120dpi.

PURCHASER
Sooo, this is for Jon Hodgson, I went on the cheap, bought your tiles, the whole lot of them. Just pdfs. Sure I'd like to be floating in cash :) woudln't we all :)

I'll be getting them printed out here eventually. Blew my allowance already this month :)

Just want to say here, because mention this on every set would look like spamming, I think your tiles are above grade. In a hobby that is crawling with competition with this sort of thing, YOU actually got my money. The whole saying, put yer money where your mouth is :)

I liked the way you did the tiles image wise. 6x6 is neither too big or too small.

I see pics of what appear to be these tiles on the Internet with furnishings like beds, etc. However, the tiles in the video look like they are just plain rooms. Are there tiles that include furnished chambers? Also, any chance the digital versions will eventually be sold at a resolution suitable for printing?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
