The Tower of the Ice Lich - A Solo Dungeon Card Game

Far to the north, on the forever-frozen sea of Issaegir, stands the legendary tower of the Ice Lich. It is filled with unholy beasts, deadly traps, and corrupt magic, but also the fabled treasures of myth. And on the top floor, its undead ruler awaits those foolish heroes who attempt to climb the entire tower.

DO YOU DARE TO ENTER THE TOWER OF THE ICE LICH?

DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO ASCEND THE TOWER AND FACE THE GHASTLY LICH?

The Tower of the Ice Lich is a fast, simple, solo-adventure dungeon card game. It is created as a homage to 16-bit video games, fantasy RPGs, and classic Sword and Sorcery literature. Choose between 4 different characters, face multiple challenges in the form of 30 unique rooms and 30 distinct events, and acquire 12 marvelous items that help you on the way to defeat the Lich and its 9 special attacks. Replay and experience a different tower the next time. Or why not use the cards as inspiration when you need a quick dungeon for your regular RPG session.

The rules are underneath the preview image above as ALTERNATE PREVIEW or VIEW RULEBOOK.

The rules also contain a list of all the cards published for the game.

The print-and-play PDF is 32 pages, 10,99 x 8,50, alternating between the front and back of the cards.

To play the game, you need a couple of six-sided dice, some luck, and the skill to survive.

If you like the game, there are also three expansions. The first expansion contains deadlier rooms, events, and cursed items: The Tower of the Ice Lich - More Death and Doom!

The second expansion has cards that allow for an alternative way to play the game but also includes some bonus event cards: The Tower of the Ice Lich - The Stairs My Destination.

The third expansion introduces a new type of card called Lore cards, containing spells, fragments of the Ice Lich’s background, mind-shattering insights, and even terrible curses: The Tower of the Ice Lich - The Plight of the Ancient Dead.

PURCHASER
Hello.

I purchased this deck of cards and Castle of Sanguine Blight, but I didn't recieve a link to the rules anywhere, and not seeing one on the page. How do I go about getting the rules?

I only purchased the physical copy because I didn't see any point in paying more for a pdf. I assumed there would be an easily accessible way to get the rules.

Thank you.

Looks like the rules pdf is in that alternate publisher preview link.

PUBLISHER
Hi there. If you bought the games on drivethrucards, it says “View Rulebook” underneath the preview image. The link leads you to the rules as a downloadable pdf document. On drivethrurpg the “Alternate Preview” contains the same pdf. Both the print-and-play version (end of document) and the print on demand also have the complete rules in the form of cards. I mention in both presentation texts that the rules are available through the preview/rulebook pdf, but I'll move that up instead of having it just above the Game Details to avoid further misunderstandings.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
