Got my deck. It's very easy to use. It's not just for NPCs, the weather can change as the story progresses, an unplanned encounter is no big deal. We've even delt a few cards just to tell a story and explore the deck mechanics.
Very well thought out right down to a random number which I use as a plus or minus modifier. The more I use it the more ways I find to include it in my game prep. It's a must have for the GM. It works to flesh out solo games too.

Got my deck in the mail. Incredible! This will add an additional depth to my games in a very easy manner. Great product and worth the investment.

Better. Back. Stories! My guys, my dudes, my lasses, my nons, my moms, my sweet daddy, etc. This is the most exciting DND module I have ever gotten my slimey racoon hands on and it isn't even a small textbook. It's a small deck of cards that let's you create a fleshed-out character background in minutes in a method that feels like breaking out a tarot deck and divining the character out of the ether. It feels GOOD, everyone. And it's so useful. I'm a DM more times than not, and it's great for me. NPC too boring? Break out the deck. Should there be a character there? Break out the deck. Your player insist on putting a family member in their backstory you want to draw upon but their description according to the player is "sister, brunette." Slap Better Backstories onto your table, Aunt Mable! Using this deck to craft NPC motivations has literally and on multiple occasions allowed me to craft entire one-shot adventures on the fly.
