Story

You have just risen to the throne of a country ravaged by chaos. Your eldest brother ruled justly and peacefully, which left the country open to aggression from other countries that saw him as weak. Your next eldest brother ruled as a tyrant and saw the country crumble as his people deserted him to seek refuge in other lands. The frequent, severe shifts in political policy have left your remaining subjects in a state of fear and confusion, and your relationship with the surrounding kingdoms could ignite at any moment. If you don’t create a solid policy to run your country, it won’t last the season. From observing the failures of your brothers, you know that no kingdom can be run on Justice or Tyranny alone. A good ruler must know when to offer an open hand and when to crush with an iron fist. Find the balance, guide your people, and rise until the whole continent bows to you.

How Will You Rule?

The Game

Dupli is a strategic card game played using 6 unique cards which interact with each other in a rock-paper-scissors fashion. Under normal rules, each player is given the same hand of 9 cards to begin with. Each round, players select 2 of their cards to play and place them face-down on the table. All players flip up their cards at the same time. The goal of each round is to have the highest total Force, with each card impacting either your own total Force or that of your foes.

Players must try to read their opponents’ hands and moves as they plan when and how to pair and use each card at their disposal. Perception and deceit are just as important as strategy to win victory in this surprisingly simple yet deviously deep card game.

For those looking for a slightly more chaotic game, there are rules for a random mode for larger groups of players. Instead of being dealt the same 9 card hand, each player receives 9 random cards. This makes reading and predicting your opponent's moves both more difficult and far more vital to your survival.

Gameplay takes a matter of minutes. This is the perfect game to pull out at the end of a gaming session to decide whose turn it is to buy pizza, or when waiting in line at a con.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
