Sci-Fi Adventure Deck

This is a solo system-agnostic GM and Oracle Deck for sci-fi TTRPGs, but it is inspired by Starfinder and Numenera. It’s meant for solo play, but could also be used as idea generation for a group, or for GM-less games. You do not have to have any knowledge of Starfinder or Numenera if you want to use these.

  • 50 cards: Printed front & back or 100 cards with no backs. This is a print-and-cut PDF so you will need to cut out each card, but you can stack them to make cutting faster.
  • Character information: Names, traits, races, alignment, and items.
  • Traits with an * next to them are from Numenera (including Numenera Discovery) just in case you want to use them for character design or NPC creation.
  • Races, Classes, and Themes: On the character side of the card next to the d20, you'll see either an R, C, or T. This indicates that under Person they're either a race, class, or theme from Starfinder that you can use for character creation if you like.
  • Yes/No oracle: Any time you need a yes or no (and or but) answer, draw a card.
  • Verb/Noun event generator: Use the words at the top of the card to create a random event. Ex: Draw two cards and use the Verb on the left of one card, and the Noun on the right of the other card and you get "Explore Object." Interpret that as something you're doing, or someone else, and draw more cards to generate answers such as who is doing the event and what "Thing" they're looking for.
  • A GM Move: These are moves from Dungeon World that can help you get unstuck if you don't know what to do next. You don't have to know anything about Dungeon World to use them, just interpret what they say, such as, "Separate them from each other." This could be something you want to do as a player, or you want to have happen as a consequence.
  • Places: Places you may come across within or outside of a settlement. This could be a place you're already in or a place you need to go.
  • Encounters: Events happening within or outside of a settlement that you can choose to engage in.
  • Settlement names and traits: This is the name and overall feel of the settlement you find yourself in or need to travel to.
  • Settlement Calamity: This is the settlement's current main issue that you may want to deal with or help solve for them.
  • All the polyhedrons: This has random rolls for all the polyhedrons. Rolling dice is fun, but maybe you don't want to pull them out, or maybe you're on the go and want to keep it minimal. All the dice are here for you!
  • Print-Friendly version: Less ink to print!
  • Adventure Mat: To help you get started with a game, I've created an adventure mat that will allow you to gather some information on the setting and your character and other characters involved that will take out a lot of headache from trying to create a story from scratch.
  • Tabletop Simulator Files: Two files are the sheets required to upload the deck, and one file shows the settings I have it on to make it work correctly. Be sure to upload the sheets in the URL section in TTS, mine are blank in the photo to avoid confusion because you may have them downloaded to a different area on your PC. It also doesn't matter which side is the front, but I usually keep the characters on the front and adventures on the back.

Any chance to get a version with single card JPEGs? This is usually made available with other similar products and makes it easy to use them with VTTs or digital randomizers

Oh my gosh! Sorry I never saw this comment, it didn't notify me. Anyway, yes, I could do that! That's how I originally make them anyway before adding them to the printable sheets. Thanks so much for letting me know, and sorry again that I got back to you so late.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
