Magic School Adventure Deck

This deck was built to work with games like Witchcraft and Wizardry, and Kids on Brooms, but it is a generator for any Magic School-related games.

This is for solo play, but could also be used as idea generation for a group, or GM-less games.

• 25 cards: Printed front & back or 50 cards with no backs. This is a print-and-cut PDF so you will need to cut out each card, but you can stack them to make cutting faster.

• Character information: Type of person or trope related to Kids on Brooms, or occupation. Names are also included along with Things they may be carrying, hiding, or associated with. However you want to interpret them. They can also be used as clues. There's also a character or creature alignment whether; good, evil, lawful, chaotic, etc.
• Traits: Traits on the Character side are from the Witchcraft and Wizardry character creation guide. Each card has a "positive" and "negative" trait, but you don't have to use them together and get the same traits each time. You could draw five cards and those would be your positives, then five more for your negatives to keep it truly random, if you like.

• Yes/No oracle: Any time you need a yes or no (and or but) answer, draw a card.

• Mystery Twist: This is something I love to end my games on so each session ends on a cool twist (unless you're ending a new mystery with each game like a one-shot). It can also be used at any point you get stuck.

• D6: Six-sided die on the character side with a random roll.

• Verb/Noun event generator: Use the words at the top of the card to create a random event. Ex: Draw two cards and use the Verb on the left of one card, and the Noun on the right of the other card and you get "Compete Person." Interpret that as something you're doing, or someone else, and draw more cards to generate answers such as who is doing the event and why.
• Places: The other side includes the adventure material, whether you’re in school or off-grounds. Starred* places are classes. All classes from Kids on Booms are included, and more.

• Encounters: Things you may encounter in school or off-grounds.

• Traits: Could be for a creature, a building, an item, or anything you like.

• Enemy: If you're looking for a fight, here it is.

• Something Wicked: This is a mystery seed. Interpret it how you like, using a few more cards to answer questions about the mystery, and you're off.

• All the polyhedrons: This has random rolls for all the polyhedrons. Rolling dice is fun, but maybe you don't want to pull them out, or maybe you're on the go and want to keep it minimal. All the dice are here for you!

• Print-Friendly version: Less ink to print! "Plus" symbols show where to cut to make sure all cards are the same size.

• Adventure Mat: To help you get started with a game, I've created an adventure mat that will allow you to gather some information on the setting and your character and other characters involved that will take out a lot of headache from trying to create a story from scratch.

• Tabletop Simulator: I've added files so you can put the Adventure Deck on Tabletop Simulator (TTS) if you like to play digitally. Two files are the sheets required to upload the deck. The settings in TTS to make them load right are, width 100, height 7, number of cards 25.

• Mix & Match: There's a symbol marking each card to its deck. This is so you can easily mix cards if you like. I love mixing this deck with the sci-fi deck to play Troika! Academies of the Arcane for a Harry-Potter-in-space feel.
