The Marseille Prendre Vie (Marseille coming alive) is a world majority Tarot de Marseille deck following the images of the traditional TdM deck translated through modern art, on live photo backgrounds, in the real world we live in with a BBIPOC majority of 80% and many intersectionalities  Bringing the Marseille to life is about who is in the deck, and the art style of the deck.  This is a deck that declares the Marseille can be modern, inclusive, creative and still read like a Marseille deck.  I took a path of both respect and a light hearted decolonial gaze to the iconography in this deck.  If part of the imagery didn't really fit the modern world (crowns as a common example) I included them as line work in exaggerated ways.  The mana in "16 The House of God" are loaves of bagged bread.  The tower I picked for my House of God card is "The Royal Plaza" (Royal Bank Headquarters) in Toronto. This is also a deck full of easter eggs for those who enjoy the lore some have created about the meanings different artistic artifacts about the many historic decks. The Characters  face the same directions, maintain similar poses. The florals are realistic and chosen to fit the card and it's traditional presentation.

In this groundbreaking Tarot de Marseille deck Aunty K gives us the best of traditional TdM symbolism, real world majority representation, in the modern world.  In this modern deck, characters face the direction of traditional Tarot de Marseille decks, eyes looking in the same directions, symbolism recreated, uncoloured berries and floral points, even the top and bottom border sizes and numbering. What has been changed is the art style.  Aunty K’s Marseille Prendre Vie has photographed backgrounds. The pips are all sky photos without landscapes (except the Ace of Cups which appears on water). The numbers are in both Roman and Arabic numerals for ease. The titles are accurate English translations of the French, instead of using the titles of the Rider Waite Smith.

79 cards (typical 78 plus additional card “The Happy Squirrel”.

The deck has an 80th title card that includes QR codes for the PDF guide booklet and audio files of the guide booklet (on my website). The booklet reads as a series of short interwoven stories through the tarot. It is formatted in 8x11 for ease on kindle and reading apps.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
