I was worried when I sat down with the deck, and prepared to claim it. For a moment I thought the claiming would fail, and I would not succeed, and the deck would be unbound and wild, but...the tide of fate turned, and I was able to bring it under my control. It grumbles at me, but--so far--it is tentatively accepting of the leash.

Impeccably designed, gloriously colored, with phenomenal artwork and cards that occasionally sear neurons. Heavy cardstsock and, while narrower than many decks, still possible to shuffle fairly easily. Highly recommended.

This book has two parts, and therefore, uses.

The first part is that it is a guidebook used to interpret the deck of the same name, along with providing dire warnings about it's use. the inclusion of the artwork found on the cards is a nice addition, but for the full experience, one should buy the cards as well. (I disclaim any and all liability for using the deck for divination- if the book's warnings don't stop you, It's unlikely that I will be able to either.)

The second part is the story behind the redicovery of the 'Lost' Arcana cards, and the fate of the Archivist that was tasked with finding and recovering them. This story is a brooding, horror tale as told in letters, and it is equal to or better than that of Lovecraft.

If you are a fan of horror in the lovecraftian vein, Strange Oddities and Curiousities, then you should purchase this book (and the deck.)

This is an outstanding art deck that should have a place in any horror collection, along with the guidebook by the same publisher.

Excellent artwork with very evocative imagery, great feel to the cards, and compelling backstory and mythology! Properly sized cards make for easy shuffling. As a serious cartomancer, I greatly enjoy this creation. I even like the box design, which is very easy to open and therefore excellent for keeping the box intact for long-term use.

A surprisingly fun read that mixes the practical and the fantastical, even if you don't get the cards (which you should), read the book! It's a good time.

Lovely deck, with beautiful packaging - nice cardstock, with a good shuffle feel, and a box that's designed to prevent foxing.

The deck itself is gorgeous, with evocative artwork and generous symbolism. Very useful for interpretive readings, and a wonderful art piece, as well.
