Excellent setting, full of charm. It is a captivating universe delineated in this book, every planet, port or asteroid described with a gripping narrative that invites for adventures to be set upon them.

The premise of a Victorian age Space Colonization was done before, by Space 1889, among others, but this book has a much more charming and enjoyable way of doing so.

I didn't tried the system mechanics, since I prefer to convert every setting to my system of choice, but they seem sound to me. It is a modern system, with emphasis on fast conflict resolution and interaction between characters.

Victorian, but not the Victorian era as we know it. For example, page 11 describes how Florence Nightingale led the Charge of the Light Brigade to capture the Russian space elevator at Balaclava.

The solar-steam-electric-etheric space drive is pretty cool, but my favourite bit of technology would have to be their computer jargon organised around "beekeeping" - no insects are involved, just a highly original take on the familiar idea of difference engines.
