FREE Battlemap from Ground Set #4 - Crystal Garden
by Robin D. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/25/2016 13:13:30

large map which may be difficult to print everywhere however results are very nice details are interesting, not repetitiv usable for many games.

one advice in general; use a plastic sheet window in the same size (or an inch larger) to protect it

Ancient Worlds - Hills
by A customer [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/29/2016 00:17:58

These are good stuff. We have tried several different methods for creating interesting multi level terrain and these models rank up there. The design is great with plenty of spots to place minis as they move up, down and across the hills. A few of these spots are at slightly too much of a slant and getting a mini to stay exactly where you want in these specific spots can be tricky. The textures provided are nice. However, after seeing some other products I would have like a few more customize options.

I am pretty much a newbie at paper modeling and I really didn't have any issues with these and would personally consider them "medium" difficulty. They are definitely more involved than a couple walls and a pitched roof and during the later stages of assembly it can take some Dexterity checks to get into the tigher spots to hold pieces while the glue sets but the DC isn't too crazy. (aside - I would NOT attempt these models with normal PVC unless you are into self toture, you really need a tacky glue that is going to set pretty quickly, I have done some simpler buildings with 'normal' glue but cannot imagine how you would do that with these)

All-in-all a solid product that is worth the money and time to build. I would definitely recommend but only wish there were a few more options to add a little more variety.

Looked cool, but I couldn't figure out how to use all the features and wasn't able to find the instructional video mentioned in the product details.

Hopefully I'll figure out what I'm missing and be able to use it!

Dear Chris, Thank you for your review, please let us tell you how to use these PDFs. First of all, you have to use Adobe Reader, even on MAC machines (it’s free). The basic built-in reader will not let you use the buttons. You can see a 6x6 tile in every PDF, you have to switch ON that layer on the left side whose content you want to edit. You can see its content if you click inside a grid on the tile, or if you click on the buttons at the top of the page. This way you can place the floors, walls and other elements by clicking inside the tile and turning on/off the layers. You will find tutorial videos we created to the full versions on the next link: https://www.youtube.com/user/kisatom/videos?view=0&shelf_id=0&sort=dd (They are old videos so perhaps our English is not perfect in them, but they will show you the process.) We hope we could help you, please send us an email if you have any other question! Best Regards, LZSW Team

Ground Set #1
by Louis C. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/08/2016 09:42:06

Great product and outstanding support service.

I was having issue with the grid settings in Ground Set #1. After written about my issue on this site, LZW contacted me and resolved my issue within hours. The "Grids []" check box should be used to turn on/off grids within the pdf; and not the layers side bar.

A happy customer again. Good work!

I am using Ground Set #13 Winter Forest and this set to create a 60"x50" map for Frostgrave. Looking forward to use the finished map for future tabletop games.

Louis

Paper Tanks - MS-1
by Michael P. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/26/2015 09:33:07

This is the second tank I've built (the first being the KV-1 in this series). A little practice goes a long way to making these tanks, and this one went together very quickly. Even though all the parts fit on one page, you still get to choose from two turret types and four texture options. It's a tiny tank! I made cutfiles for all the parts, so I could use my machine cutter to do that dirty work for me.

I seriously hope they continue this line of models!

Paper Tanks - KV-1
by Michael P. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/24/2015 14:33:18

I tend not to do a lot of detailed papercraft, and having seen other models that are 11 pages of parts, clearly this isn't the most detailed type of model out there. But, for me, it was pretty fiddly. The instructions could possibly have been a little clearer. The pieces could have been laid out differently maybe to make it easier to assemble. But, I built it, and it's gorgeous! There are four textures to choose on the tank, and it has two subtle variants of the turret you can build. The turret is removable, and turns.

I recommend tweezers, paperclips and other little tools that may help put pressure on tiny tabs in hard-to-reach places. I also struggled to find something that would let me roll up the gun barrel. It's quite small. In the end, I was able to roll the paper (I used heavy matte photo paper) around a chopstick to get a slight curve, then a nail, then a wooden skewer, and finally the nozzle of a can-of-air that I had in my office. That finally got it rolled up nice and tight.

I definitely plan on making the other tanks in the series.

Battlemap - Oargkan's Labyrinth
by Aaron M. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/07/2015 21:31:03

This is an excellently crafted map, with very nice close detail that captures the theme perfectly. The lighting and shadow work is top notch. The isometric map is a great addition which helps to visualize the location and bring it to life.

I would have loved to have a night version of this map as well, but even as it stands I am happy with my purchase.

I recommend this product.

I gave this a neutral rating. I downloaded it to see what it was, and if there was any chance at all that it could be made to work in a Linux environment. Well, as of the end of 2015 there appear to be no Linux tools able to handle a PDF with the extensions that this file uses.

So, if you live in the Windows (and maybe the Mac) world, then this might be a useful aid for you. If you're in the Linux world, its a no-go.

Elven Ruined Sanctuary
by Roy B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/06/2015 13:26:13

The model looks fairly decent and most of it went together with little difficulty. However if you look at the pictures you will see 2 "rocks" (one on each side) that supply support as well as atmosphere. Putting those rocks together is a bitch. If you use glue, it will take a disproportionate amount of time as there are many little tabs that would have to be positioned, glued in place, and then held while your glue took a strong enough bond to hold the tab in place. I didn't even try. I used transparent scotch tape on the underside instead and that worked OK. Once the rocks have been glued together, you then have to glue them in place. One of them did not fit. I had to force mold the basic part of the model in order to get it to fit together in such a way so as to hide the white spot on the basic part which shows where the rock is supposed to go. Perhaps it was just my modeling skills but I am glad that I will not need another "ruined Eleven Sanctuary". One will be enough.

The texture looks great but the grid layer only turns off for the first tile. For my purposes this makes the product unusable :( I hope this isn't repeated in all the tile sets!

Dear Louis, Thank you for your feedback! You have to use Adobe Reader because buttons work well only with it, you cannot switch the lines with other readers. (It is free from their site) If you use Mac please don\'t use the built in reader, it is very important. We cannot chat under a review so if you still have problem with the file please contact us by clicking on the contact publisher link on the right-hand side under our logo, or on our website here: http://lordzsezseworks.com/content/contact-us/ Thank you! FREE Battlemap from Ground Set #16 - Graveyard
by Patrick V. R. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/13/2015 11:50:38

Beautiful. A unique rendering of a pillaged/ruined graveyard. The publisher is even wise enough to include VTT versions, perfect for online play at places like roll20.net (which I think is the best service out there).

I buy anything from the Battlemap line and I recommend you do the same.

I can only highly recommend these tiles if you are looking for swamp tiles or even just regular outdoor tiles! You have the option of trees, water, paths, roads, statues etc. Great set, I use it for all kind of outdoor (less swamp, more "normal" outdoor") encounters.

Ground set #12 - Crypt
by Christoph C. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/15/2015 02:51:28

This set is amazing! If you are looking for very versatile, highly costumizable and very detailed dungeon tiles look no further: this is it!

After trying different sets here on drive thru rpg and after making a bad purchase I was hesitant to buy any more sets. But I am glad I chose to buy this. The detail is great, almost unmatched by any other tiles I have found here. The only dungeon tiles I like a bit more are the dungeon tiles included in the board game "descent 2nd", but that was commissioned work, so it is a bit unfair to compare the two.

However if Lord Zsezse Works should choose to put out another dungeon tiles set draw some inspiration from Descent 2nd. And please release a kind of norther american forest ground set with rivers just as detailed and lovely as this set. (Like the snow set, but without snow ;-) )

Thank you, I will buy more! Love your work!

Ground Set #7 - Cave
by Allan G. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/04/2014 06:57:35

While typing this review I have noticed that the text used in the product listing is "Ground Set #7 - Cave", but the text on the cover page of the tiles themselves is "Ground Set #7 - The Descent". The Descent does seem a more apt title for this product due to it's corridor style tiles. I've rated this item as two stars due to it's lack of practical use when it comes to creating a "cave" dungeon setting, which is why I purchased it.

The tiles offered have exits/entrances at the top, right, left and bottom of the tiles mostly. There is a need for more tiles with their exits/entrances at the corners, or off-centre from the tile edge. The review by Christopher H is excellent " ...the edges of the spaces—which work well for the above-ground road sets—are too regular [straight] for a natural cave, and the set doesn't make it easy to construct larger chambers..." This means that the set has a limited practicality.

I was very interested in the Expansion for Ground Set 7 as I thought it would contain off-angle and edging tiles, but I would draw your attention to Christopher H's review of the Expansion for Ground Set 7, which notes that the expansion uses floors with a tiled look and are not really of use in conjunction with this set.

If you are looking to create a corridor style dungeon for your adventurers then this is the set to purchase, with excellent artwork and no issues with printing, and if I had purchased it for such I would have been happy to award it at least four stars.
