IMPORTANT NOTE 29 March 2023: This review rating was mistakenly based on an older version of this supplement. I will be amending it to reflect the author's changes and notes in their reply below.

This product has brought me out of review retirement to give my honest opinion and thoughts on this conversion of the Mythic Rules from Pathfinder 1st Edition into Pathfinder 2nd Edition.

The Good

A remarkably faithful conversion of Mythic Paths, Path abilities, and Mythic Feats.

The use of Focus Points to replace Mythic Power is inspired and fits the existing PF2 game well.

The Bad

Persistent use of the term "damage reduction" throughout the product instead of Resistance, except in a few cases where "Mythic Resistance" is mentioned, but there's no indication what that actually means (so gaining "5 Mythic Resistance" is frustratingly meaningless, though I assume it means "resist all physical damage 5 except from a Mythic source").

Some abilities have the Focus trait but no focus point use.

Abilities exist that are nonsensical, or contradictory, or don't quite properly account for the rules of the game (for example, an ability which is a reaction that if it works allows you to make an attack of opportunity, except attack of opportunity is a reaction, and you've already used your reaction, so... it really should just let you make a melee Strike).

The Conclusion

As a long-standing fan of the Mythic rules (it's second only to the Kingdom rules for me), I truly want to love this product, but it feels to me as though it was rushed out without a developer pass, which would have caught all of the problems I've found. It is definitely not an overall "bad" product, but undoubtedly will take some work to make it function properly, even though the design intent is very clear in most places.

I would have liked to see some treatment of Mythic monsters to accompany this, as that would have rounded the product out nicely, but I can forgive it if we assume it's solely meant to be the player-facing rules being converted.

Overall, I have to give this 3 stars. It's probably good enough for most people, and I'm borrowing heavily from it for my own use, but the amount of effort I'm putting in to make it actually function within the confines of PF2 is a serious detriment.

Its functional, but in no way is it properly set up like some of the other Foundry compendiums for other products (some if which are free might I add.)

Pros:

• It's a really cool class Cons:
• It hasnt been updated to V10 so it throws out errors (which has been pointed out for about two months now with no resolution)
• It's in a single compendium instead of split up in their proper format, meaning they wont link correctly to the pathfinder compenium veiwer.

I would recommend the class but not this module or any of their other foundry modules.

I just purchased the free preview the other day. there was no pdf attached to it, and nothing to download. I was extremely disappointed.

I practically cried seeing the improvements that this makes to the witch class. It's essential if you intend to make a Hex focused witch, and won't break the game balance.

It also comes with a functioning Pathbuilder JSON and Foundry Compendium. They didn't split it into two products! I can't recommend this enough!

Love all of TPK's work so far and Barbarians+ is no different. Some of the best third-party content out there and a true understanding of why people love Barbarian and what makes it great. Wrecker is my favorite instinct in the book, big fan of the alternate Frenzy Instinct, and the Bloodrager class archetype is a big chef's kiss from me.

Absolutely delightful book! My witch chef is gonna be so much fun, brewing potions and making meals in her cauldron every morning. The only problem is wanting too many of the feats, even skipping the weapon-oriented ones.

It's a lovely book to look at, too! The art is super cute and the layout and graphic design is very pleasant.

I really enjoyed this Pathfinder supplement. The TL;DR is that it's technically sound, inventive in it's augmentation of the mechanics, and if you love dragons this feels like a love letter to them.

When it comes to the fundamentals, it's got the bases covered. It's a well formatted document that follows all of Paizo's standard organization, headings, etc. which makes it very easy to follow as a reference document. Additionally, it makes great use of Paizo's freely available art under the OGL (thanks Paizo!) so it feels right at home in my Pathfinder collection. It's also clear that the author is very familiar with the Pathfinder ruleset, and Paizo's standard conventions, and everything feels very well balanced and not over or under powered.

Getting into the meat of the document, it's got a lot of fun additions to any character or campaign where you want a little extra dragon flavor. I'm really bad at coming up with Backgrounds on the fly, so it's really nice to have plenty of options which this doc gives. There's also a lot of class mods that are all great. I especially liked the Research Field for the Dragon chemist which I think has a very inventive use of breath weapons. It's so thorough that when I thought to myself, "No Dragon themed cavalier?" I had to quickly pull up the pfsrd to find out that there already was one I had forgotten about! There's also a lot of great little flavor additions like spells, and modifications to the Riding Drake from the APG to round it out.

Long story short(er) this is a great supplement that is a must have for any dragon focused campaign or character. After reading through it I have a bunch of great ideas for characters and I can't wait to use it in a campaign. Well worth the $3!

Lots of great options for Sarenite worshippers. I am so excited to see the full supplement with the Dawnflower Anchorite archetype. I have one in my current game as an NPC but I haven't statted them yet.

Great writing and fun 3rd party feats and items! That Lou is a real onion of a character, layers within layers.

I love this book! Kitsune in the base rules feel very half baked and without many options and honestly even fewer that excite me in a way I would want them to. The additions this supplement gives them a lot more fun things they can do, and the expansion on the lore with many different cultures can also work great for people like me who want to flesh out the world a bit and include a lot of the fantasy races in their stories! This author has earned my attention, can't wait to see more of their stuff.

I loved the character development and pacing of the story. I especially liked the suspense of seeing how things were setting up against the protagonist of the story and then how things unfolded. It was also nice seeing the world building referencing familiar settings and how they were intertwined.

All in all it was a fun read and I look forward to more adventures in the future.

Quite good on the whole. The magic systems are interesting, which is what truly matters. Shifter is fantastically done, basically everything I could want from such a class.

Mesmerist: Eyebiter should probably have a prereq of Familiar, and not sure how it interacts with normal familiars! Otherwise I have no real input on this class. It's fine, not my style.

My one real dislike of this book is there's a LOT of content in here, like a LOT, but there are neither bookmarks nor an index. It makes it very hard to find any one thing.

At nearly 90 pages, this Guide has a lot of well thought out and expanded notes on the Abomination Vaults adventure as well as the town of Otari. It is well organized leaving me hopeful that it will be a corenerstone for my upcoming run of the Beginner Box (aka Menace under Otari) -> Trouble in Otari + Abomination Vaults.

Having a second set of eyes with advice on how they ran the adventure is much appreciated and at least makes this part of learning Pathfinder and converting a pre-published adventure to be balanced for my gorup of (typically) 7 players easier.

With this being put out as pay what you want, it is (quite literally) a steal. Don't hesitate, give it a try and come back to put some money towards it once you see the value for yourself. At least for me this product is easily on par with the Abomination Vaults GMs Guide that asks for $5.99.

I've been playing ttrpgs for four decades now, and I love the creativity of 3rd party content and love to include it in games if it fits. I've done a good deal of freelance editing, balancing, and testing over the years. After the flood of poorly balanced 3rd party material that crashed in during the 3.0-3.5 DnD and Pf1 days I formed a system of Presentation of material, Ability to blend in established lore, Balance that i use to judge on now. I've liked other publications from this line and was looking forward to this one but couldn't extend those feelings to this material. This comes from making a few of these and also some characters with it as a dedication and ran them in some one shots of different levels. Here's what I found.

Presentation wise this would be 5 stars easy. I'd even give it 6. The way it blends the lore of Golarion id give it 5 too, but it falls so short in balance though which would make 2 in that reguard which is why overall I gave it a 3

This class is better than every other spellcasting class by far. Not only is it a full caster (Sorcerer Spellcasting with Wizard spells per day progression) it has the ability to compete with non fighter martials while being as good if not better then other casters at the same time, has strong defensive abilities, has very powerful Invocations (cantrips like Bards get but more than a few of these can compete with higher level spells ),, some of its class feats are above other sof similar levels, it is given loads of powerful free stuff from their Patron as they level, where similar classes would have the option to choose them as class feats as they level (like Sorcerer Bloodlines powers) This alone gives it bump of power like a Free Archetype built character but it's part of its class level progression.

It takes the cool stuff of a few classes, combines them and makes them better. It feels less of a balanced pf2e class and more of an upgraded 5e Warlock using pf2e system language. A little less of trying to transpose 5e Warlocks in its complete form to Pf2 and more focus on the spirit of the class would do wonders here. It does try to balance some things by needing to have a spell slot of that level available to use some abilities and Innovations but it has enough slots that's not really a trade off of note, I found others you need to have cast a spell from a slot before hand and those felt a bit more inline.

Things that might help: Less is more here. Following established balance of other classes and not trying to shove everything in

Some Suggestions:

Summoner spellcasting, not only does this cut down the number of available spells they have, it helps give balance to the very powerful Invocation cantrips and abilities they have access to and makes choosing to cast a slot or keep it for casting Invocations cantrips mean something.

Remove the freely given abilities and make them an option that becomes available as class feats as they level.

Where I might allow it: If I switched the spellcasting to Summoner Spell progression and then let it play in a game where I allow Free Archetype but it doesn't get to have one

An excellent book! Though in some aspects I feel some of the feats are a little conservative in "power" compared to the stuff official ancestries get, such as Orc heritage feats, but ultimately a satisfying implementation of minotaur with great art and variety!
