NOVA6 Core RC
by Shawn D. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 01/13/2023 10:44:11

Full disclosure: I am a member of the playtest group that helped develop the NOVA6 system. I have also run NOVA6 games as a GM during the development of the system.

My favorite things about the NOVA6 system:

  1. Character creation is quick, intuitive, and fun. Interesting, ready-to-play characters can be created within 30 minutes (even more quickly with some familiarity with the system).
  2. The dice rolling resolution mechanic is easy to grasp.
  3. The plot point mechanic is amazing. This is the real gem of this system, generating cool stunts for characters to be awesome and fun complications for characters to overcome.

Narosia: Sea of Tears Fantasy RPG
by Ronald P. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/20/2016 14:00:41

This gives the Hero System a fantastic setting to play in the Fantasy genre. This product allows you to play all the way from character creation to a several year spanning campaign in the same world. I find the unique twist on the Fantasy genre very refreshing.

Narosia: Sea of Tears Fantasy RPG
by Dale B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 09/26/2015 11:43:32

I’ve gamemastered RPGs for years, and I’ve played Narosia: Sea of Tears with the author. It is incredible system, years of work distilled into a complete RPG where the characters, the world of Narosia, and the game mechanics are not only all included, but created to fit and work together. Here is a list of the five best things I found in Narosia: Sea of Tears.

  • The world of Narosia has depth, consistency, and richness that draws you in. Its history, races, gods, monsters, nations, threats, adventure sites are all intertwined. There are unique races and familiar ones (elves, dwarves, orc-like gral) all have twists - different from Tolkien (or other game worlds) making them interesting and fresh.

  • The world information isn't a dry gazetteer. Races, cultures, gods, cities - the game information includes motivations, values, aversions, interactions, likes, dislikes. The unique focus of Narosia is the vast amount of information included to aid a GM in role-playing the world.

  • The Enaros (the gods) are not clones of Greek gods or Tolkien valar; they have personality, and detail their sphere of influence, motivations, and interactions with one another. They are interested in and interact with events on Narosia.

  • Narosia has defined sources/origins for magic and creatures. The threat of the Voidspawn is very different than that of Endroren his fel hordes, which in turn are unlike the essenceborn creatures like dragons. Besides the unique creatures included, Narosia lists every creature from the Hero Bestiary and slots their origin into the Narosia mythology.

  • Character Quickstart is a great idea. Quickstart works to allow a player to quickly bolt together many mini-templates - race, archetype, culture, vocation, background, characteristic templates - to easily create a very individualized character.
