Super clean graphics and fun game play. Once I played I order the Downtown expansion immediately. I love the card sized rule sheets - makes it extremely handy to carry. Both this and the Downtown expansion fit in one large box. Perfect portable play.

I received this game in the mail just last week, and finally got to try it yesterday. I really enjoyed it! The production values are excellent and the gameplay is simple enough to teach quickly, but deep enough to make really interesting choices and strategies. I am a big fan of Carcassone and Tsuro and I could see their influences (they are explicitly listed as inspirations for Light Rail). If you like those games, or well designed products in general, I would highly recommend this one!

Want a good til laying outs building game, but not have a long time? Looking for a filler with om depth, but not a brain burner? This fun card laying gam I your answer. Play well with 2,3, or 4 players, and I hd no problem teaching it to a 9-yr old. The hidden objectives add a touch of variability, I only wish there were more, as after 2-3 games with 4 player you can pretty quickly figure what a player's objectives are and play to block. Can't it to try the downtown expansion!

OK so I literally judged a game by its cover and bought Light Rail because of its cool Futurism cover. It arrived this morning in pristine condition and I ordered it with the plastic box to keep it that way. On opening the box I was impressed with the quality of the graphic design and the clarity of the rules lay out. I’ve now played it (admittedly only 2 player) 7 times and I have enjoyed it every time. It can be difficult to get to grips with the city layout rules at first but it all adds to the fun. The actual game play can be as complex or simple as your own tactics. You can agonise over every card lay, because there are always choices, or you can fire them out fast and fun. Overall I’d say this was a top notch title. It’s enjoyable, easy-ish to learn and the artwork is gorgeous. My only criticism would be that the card art doesn’t quite live up to the standard of the cover art. That being said it is still perfectly good and functional so does not detract from the game in anyway. If I could I’d give 4.5 stars but seeing as half stars aren’t an option I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt wit 5 STARS.
