Well I read the blurb and took a chance and bought the rules - we had our first game at Aberdeen Wargames Club with 5 players and everyone had a great time. All the Players thought the game was fast playing, easy and quick to understand and play. We look forward to future games - and will probabaly invest in model ships as we used cardboard counters for the ships. Note that we did play the turn sequence different from the conception in the rules - we couldn't really grasp the freeform turn sequence. Instead each player drew a playing card which determined the order in which they could play an action - and we followed this sequence until everyone had passed, then morale checks and a draw of cards to complete the turn. We found this worked to our Old Gronaird attitudes excellently. Great fun and quick playing. I imagine if someone is looking for a close simulation of costal naval warfare then they need to look elsewhere. Though we didn't really discuss how the game performed as a simulation there is no doubt as game it works well as a bloody good fun set of rules. Highly recomended.
