Masks of the Mummy Kings is a light-weight, elegant game about dungeon-crawling scoundrels. The scoundrels are delving deep into the ziggurat to claim their treasures, but need to contest with obstacles. Each room proposes a threat which is vulnterable to physical harm, arcane arts, or clever trickery. The players experiment and discover how to deal with each obstacle, based on their character's expertise. I have often stepped away from dungeon crawls of late, but this game has gotten me looking for torches and oil flasks. I certainly recommend checking this out.

The Planarch Codex is one of the most elegant designs I have seen. It embraces the rich character of the old Planescape and the implications of such a society. It embraces the freebooter; the freelance "troubleshooter" who would be desperate enough to wander across the planes. It explores culture and ethnicity in a thoughtful yet gamable fashion. It's a massive wealth of rich seeds and inspirations to make your games all that much more awesome. It's also free, which is another fantastic point in it's favour. I look forward to the next Planarch Codex.

This might be one of the most evocative and fascinating book that explains Vancian magic within a context of fantasy adventures. It provides a framework for creating detailed, comprehensive and fascinating wizard's towers, ripe for plunder and exploration.
And it was written by Vincent Baker. If you have read Dogs in the Vineyard or Apocalypse World, you know that is a sign of quality.

This is the next game from Bully Pulpit game after the incredible success of Fiasco, and it's a clear sucess. You play in space-australia-style prison colony, with each person controlling both a convict and a jailer. Over a series of scenes, you focus on characters and try to force them to break their solumn oaths. It's thematic, easy to play and fascinating.

This book lies.
You will note the five star rating for a good reason. The book claims to be about "Board Game Design" when in reallity it is so much more. It's about all games, from board to card to RPG. It discusses the core reasons for design and the main structures behind them. This doesn't focus on individual mechanics, but rather on the more fundamental, structural things.
If you want to design any game, this is a godsend. As a roleplaying game designer, it blew me away. Grab your copy.

Thematic. Moody. It reinforces the feeling of a good vampire story, based on the secrets and fears of those victimized by the beast. This game is beautiful to behold and the game mechanics are engaging. This is an indie game design worth your attention.

When temporal paradoxes threaten, you need to send a crack team of world renowned experts to fix the problem. Unfortunately, they are too sensitive to the aforementioned paradoxes and you need to find some alternate human resources to do the job. You need someone so disrespected and unimportant that the timestream won't care about their meddling in the past. You need temporary help.
Tons of fun and totally worth your while.

This is a grab bag of awesome, from the brilliant mind of Brian Engard. It includes everything from "Jury Duty" to the foul-mouthed, time-travelling 80's hair band game "Snake Grinder".
Hot pink guitar picks as tokens. Seriously.
Grab your copy and start reading though this eclectic and hella fun collection. When you fall in love, send a few bucks in the author's direction so he can continue to develop awesome games.
