Back to the Rifter

Amazing book. Worth it just for the dissection of the game's fascist apologia, but there's so much more than that. I've been working my way through the PDF for a while but have now finished it and am contemplating getting the POD becasue I enjoyed it so much. If you love Rifts, hate Rifts, or are just curious about this early 90s game that's an artifact of late 70s gaming, get this for yourself.

An interesting supplement, now old enough to drink, which was released as a fundraiser for the National Geographic Afghan Girls fund. Sort of a bundle before they had bundles. It's as fascinating in concept as anything else, with a bunch of RPG mavens coming together to provide a selection of weapons to raise funds for charity. A TOC would have made it a bit more useful, but if you are running straight 3E or Pathfinder and want to grab a few things for the PCs to cut people with (or NPCs, I dunno, it's your world) this is a great choice. It's free now, too.

First Team Dossier: All American Family

A really fun supplement, with a terrifying team of surburbanites to absolutely wreck a werewolf pack's day. This is the sort of stuff that I would have really appreciated back when I was a WW ST, a ready made group of antagonists which easily fit into a campaign.

Honestly, the only thing I'd look for this is some story seeds for bringing them into conflict with a PC pack as a group and individually.

What an absolute delight. If you've a fan of classic d6 Space Fantasy adventures this will scratch an itch you may not have even known you had. Visually, it's like looking at a book you forgot you owned. I'm tempted to pull my Star Wars rulebooks off the shelf and give this a try. I hope we get more books in the series.

A cute little supplement that gives you a few dozen random names to plop onto spaceports. An amusing micro-supplement, and I approve of it more in concept than execution.

Police Precinct

A nice combination of ambient sounds and jazz will provide good background sound for 20th century crime games. It provides a good aural sense of place, moving between murmured conversations, wailing sirens, and possibly someone getting their face tossed into a wall.

A good choice for scenes set in cop shops in Call of Cthulhu, Mutant City Blues, or Dark Champions.
