This is a short, fun module. I ran 3 of the tavern games so all 6 players would be able to get involved, and we were still done in well under 2 hours. The story was easy to follow and the NPCs are all fun to play.

My 3 star is because the scaling from average to strong seemed a bit too strong, and for the bar fight 3 x 65HP enemies against 3 T1 characters seemed very unbalanced and would be a drag (I just reduced their HP).

This is a good module and despite me making a mess of it, my players enjoyed it. The storyline is clear (some modules that have you find out information are very confusing, but this was straightforward) and open to whatever level of role play you like to do. The rescue in the middle was satisfying. My 3-star rating is because the final fight is both tough and confusing. I messed up by misunderstanding a single line in the boxed text and had to make a strange strategy mid-fight in order not to well and truly TPK. I know what I did wrong, but it wasn't easy to get right. And the final creature for an APL2 party is really tough - it could easily perma-kill 2 level 1 & 2 players in one turn, and that's really not fun for anyone at such a low level.

This was a super-fun beginners module. I liked the set-up, and players were surprised for a thing to happen so early in the module. I'd given some the back story and some not, so there was a nice amount of confusion about what was happening. Jolo was really fun to role-play. I liked that there were different options in the middle - there was a goliath and a harper in my party and it was nice to be able to pick the two that worked for them. And the final fight was fine. This module is better for low in tier 1 (it is APL1) than higher.

I've been running through the whole Tarot series and loving them (I'll go review them all soon). I really liked the concept of this one, and the jump from the first part to the second was really good. But story branch 2a and the subsequent story award actually doesn't make sense. There appears to be a chunk of content missing around what happens to the main male protagonist in this branch. I probably should have spotted it and invented something, but with 3 branches to anticipate, map and plan strategy for I didn't see the logical hole. I'll catch it next time, but thought I'd let folks know to watch out for it.
