Ordered the Printed Hardcover copy along with the pdf copy.
First off this thing is a beast, approx 400 pages of material, which is awesome.
The printed hard cover copy looks exquisite. As mentioned in the product description the printed copy does have slightly muted colors compared to the Keepers Rulebook and other Chaosium printed books, but this isnt a bad thing as it adds character to the Japan- Empire of Shadows sourcebook, a setting that is full of character to begin with.
The in addition to the three scenarios book covers a brief history of Japan and its Empire along with myths and Mythos of Japan, a selection of Japanese cities both in Japan and else where in the Empire, equipment and weapons that investigators may find in japan along with transportation and vehicles (including examples of some different aircraft of the era). One of the biggest chapters has to be on Tokyo and its prefectures, which is logical as Tokyo is the Capital and most famous city.
I fully intent to have my investigators making a trip to Japan, along with using some of the info to flesh out Japanese communities in the US such as in San Francisco or New York City, especially with their beliefs and superstitions/myths.
Again this sourcebook is an excellent resource for any CoC keeper looking to take their investigators to places other then inside the US.
