i love everything FFG touches when it comes to L5R... the gameplay, art style, organization of material. Homerun. Been playing this system in campaign for 2 years now since the beginner box, and more does not come out fast enough!!
This is a incomplete deck of playing cards. Every card contains a image of a different creature. The artwork inspires the imagination. Very clean, very detailed. The diamond, clubs, spades, and heart symbols are easily identifiable but have a kinda awsome look. There are also images of six sided dice on the cards. They do not have an official use but do look neat. I think I could use the deck of cards instead of rolling dice. Sort of like in the "fighting fantasy" books. I really like the cards, and look forward to seeing what else this artist produces....
beautiful deck. I always wanted a vintage looking deck, but I didn't have the funds to purchase an actual vintage deck. The cards feel durable, riffle shuffle well. They feel like really nice playing cards. The bridge size is a great travel size deck. I am coming back for the tarot size deck. Thank you for sharing this with the tarot world.
This is a great product! I mean it's free! But also a great idea on how to make a handy dungeon simulator that has more depth to it than most RPG's put into their dungeons. You have some control over how things play out. Fantastic 5/5!
This is an entertaining deck. Each card has a different image, more or less. Some are mirrors or rotations of other cards, but this is not actually a problem, just an observation. The images take up more or less the top square portion of the card, with suit and rank acorss the bottom. Printing seems to be close enough to perfect, as there's no problem aligning multilple cards. Use them for inspiration in designing your own catacombs, or for flavor in a game that uses cards as props. I really want to use them for a Savage Worlds chase through the sewers....
As other reviewers have said, these are great cards, both in appearance and usefulness. I'll just add that I've only found one that doesn't work with SWADE, a card that allows the player to trade bennies for XP. Which is a testament to the excellent design work that went into these.
Really cool idea! I've used it a few times now and am really enjoying being able to get some out of print card games played. It is only 4 stars due to the fact that there is some mental gymnastics that are needed to make some of the games playable which is not always the easiest to grasp. Also, and I know it's part of the design of the deck, I wish there was an option to not get the 4 sectioned back. I don't plan on using the "board" ever and would like them to look more like regular cards, at least from the back....
At first I was a little unsure for how these would work out. But I finally got a chance to play with the map tiles and loved them. It makes it really easy to throw out a random map in a few seconds. Great for random encounters. And with a bit of planning some more elaborite stuff can be easily made as well.
I can't imagine doing Session 0 without these cards. In my top 10 of "GM's must have tools". Regardless if it is Fantasy, Sci-fi, etc. they are essential and facillitate quick, collaborative, character connections.
A gem to have. Be sure to get printed ones. Having the physical cards are worth it.

Strange Gravity is the best -- and hardest -- game I know.
Did Star Trek make you want to be a space doctor? Or Join a space navy? Or wander what it is like to BE a space alien? Do you want to explore strange new worlds IN SPACE?
Well ... now's your chance!
Strange Gravity is the best game for focusing on the parts of roleplaying games that make them distinct from board games. There's no dice. There's no miniatures. There's you and your friends, acting out and telling each other stories about amazing, wonderful characters and their catastrophically great adventures.
You'll -- quickly -- make characters and establish what sort of SPACE WORLD you are in. Then, you'll tell a tale like no other -- yours.
Maybe you'll marry a space whale or fight an alien. Or solve a glitch in the holographic XO. Or save a crewmember from her manipulative society.
All these worlds can be yours, but there's a price. That price is dedication. Bring your A game.

5 of 5. I have only ever used the large plastic cases for my decks. My only gripe, which is small, the lids don't stay on that well. I put a rubber band around the case to make sure they don't come apart in my book bag.
