While the concept behind this is good, it does not work well for replacing dice rolls though if using percentile dice. The deck has a system for representing d100 rolls, but statistically is flawed, as the 5 for the single digit and the 50 for the tens digit both only occur 11 times instead of 12 like they should, while the 6 for the single digit and the 60 for the tens digit both appear 13 times. Not sure if there is a flaw in the deck that I received, or if all of the decks have this flaw (suspect it is all of them and that maybe they were hoping no one would notice. So be warned that if you plan to use them for d100 alternative, that statistically it will not give evenly distributed random results. I did not investigate the other die types, as I generally only use d%. ...

I've played Arsenic & Lies with 8 friends, treating it as a trial run to check its potential. We had an absolute blast, the experience was really fun. I really recommend it, especially for the price. However, I have some skepticism regarding its replayability. There's a concern that the dynamics between characters might become too similar from one game to the other. Nevertheless, our group is considering giving it another go to delve deeper into this aspect. I'll provide an update if we do.

Just finished playing first three quests with 2 players. Gameplay is just plain great. My Dwarf was slain in 3rd quest by an evil sorcerer while the my friend's Elf was able to complete the main objective and barely escape with 1BP. -The play is balanced and exciting with variable dungeons, objectives and side quest. The quests set up variably for the number of heroes playing. -Perfect with the Events, Artifacts, Heroic Skills and Furniture decks. -This is a far superior way to play compared to using app for DM-less games. -Absolutly love the campaign flavor and Tier system. -Great inspiration tool for building custom quests. Best of all this system holds the spirit of HQ. The deck melds with the game seamlessly and puts up few walls for making it as custom as you like. I am excited to see if more cards are published later and what other compatable deck mechanics this creator comes up with next!...

Das Advanced Game System ist eine hervorragende Ergänzung für das HeroQuest Fantasy Rollenspiel für Alle die Interesse haben, sich intensiver mit dem Spiel zu befassen. Better than expected - its not only that you now HAVE control about your damage and defense, its even a little bit like Gloomhaven, as your hand deck gets thinner and thinner, before you´ re allowed to redraw a new hand deck. You always keep the whole deck, so in the end you reshuffle all played cards and form a new deck to draw your hand cards from, thus you wont get weaker like in Gloomhaven - but temporarily you WILL get weaker and have to think well about your options you must live with for a couple of combat rounds. Finally, the game IS about combat mastery like the video game. Ingenious!...

I love these, like many of the products Philp Reed Games makes they are beyond useful for solo gamers to use something more than charts and to also mix up possibilities for events, also great for low prep games for hexcrawling or just for something to happen without rolling or without having something made up in advanced. I have the Deck of Old School Encounters 1-3 (just downloaded the third set but they look as great and useful as the other two sets) I have used set one and two several times, take a bunch of cards you want or think would be good for game or areas you will be going to and draw them as needed, if you are a DM can do it in advanced and keep it a secret or do it in front of everyone or even get the players to draw to see what they got themselves into....

The Deck of Destiny: Solo-RPG Adventures

Definitely worth buying. Two modes allows the player to play through a campaign quickly (1-2 hours) or journaling mode where the player writes about the adventure in a much more creative way. Very rules and equipment light, which makes it a great game to take with you when traveling. I hope more adventures come out in the near future.

I very recently purchased an original copy of Heroquest and fell in love with the minis and simplistic nature of the game. I mostly play solo, and while the app was functional, I just felt I wasn't really looked at the game board and all of the minis I painted up. The infinite dungeon series will be how I play solo from now on! Keeps things simple, exciting, and balanced! Love the campaign structure and the way traps are handled too. Well worth it for fans of heros and quests. Can't wait to grab more of the AxianQuest line in the future!...

The best of these decks so far with lots of evocative finds (and some challenges) for the characters that will make the results of searching for treasure more interesting than jotting down yet another spare longsword. Great stuff!

I played a full adventure using these rules. I tracked the character, game state, card outcomes, and plots at the top of a document as I narrated the scenes, challenges, rolls, and outcomes. It worked well. It gave me a structure to craft my story around with lots of creativity prompts and plenty of freedom. I will be doing the same in other Tricube Tales mini settings as inspiration strikes. I believe this is a perfect supplement for that little bit of extra structure you need in a solo version of a rules light game....

I’m sure these cards are great and I wish I could use them, but so far it’s been 11 days and my cards have not even printed yet, much less shipped. They were “acknowledged as received” at the print shop 9 days ago. Customer service, while very polite, cannot tell me if or when my cards have printed and have no idea when they’ll ship. If you buy from here, be prepared for a very long wait with no visibility into your order. I paid almost $100 for these cards, plus over $10 for shipping. I expect better fulfillment and service....

I purchased this deck in 2020, but I've only recently been working with it more as a too/instrument in my personal practice. The print quality of the cards is qutie good! They've withstood a lot of shuffling and are holding up with only a reasonable amount of wear after about a year of more regular use. The tuck-box, however, is not that great, and I find that it's wearing out faster than the cards, but that's on DTRPG, not the artist and writer. So I recommend purchasing a separate deck box of your preference for these cards. The art is fantastic! I've admired Morpheus Ravenna's work for several years, so I knew what to expect. The PDF guide is certainly useful for explainig the cards, a bit about how this deck came to be, how the deck works, some sample card layouts, and a summary of a few "tricky cards."
